Salmon Sprint is a mobile game I made over the span of 2 weeks. Developed in Godot, it supports both iOS and Android. I designed it as an endless runner game, a la Flappy Bird.
Unlike my usual go-to of C++ in Unreal Engine, I used Godot. It was important that the game be as small file size as possible, and Unreal’s baseline size for mobile was just too big. In addition, Godot’s 2D support plays a lot better than Paper 2D in Unreal so Godot was just the exact amount of simplicity I needed to make the game I envisioned. The programming was all done by me in GDScript, while all of the art was done by my fiancé.
Originally it contained banner ads via AdMob when the player died, but I removed all ads. Purchasable skins are available in the in-game shop alongside skins the player can unlock by just playing the game.
Although initially available on both iOS an Android, I ended up removing the Android version. The iOS version is still available for free on the App Store.
